ACTIVISION BUYS MEDAL OF HONOR STUDIO
ACTIVISION BUYS DANGER CLOSE STUDIOS, ANNOUNCES CROSS OVER TITLE
Activision announced the purchase of gaming studio, Danger Close today for an undisclosed amount. The deal has been in the works for at least a few months according to some reports. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick stated that a new title would be co-produced by Treyarch and the newly acquired, Danger Close. Entitled Call of Honor: Desert Storm, the title is staled for a November 2012 release. According to Kotick, the game’s campaign revolves around a covert plot to assassinate Saddam Hussein during the first Desert Storm. You take control of Task Force Omega, an elite Army regiment trained in counter-terrorism, as they infiltrate Baghdad, Iraq. Mr. Kotick is quoted saying that “Call Of Honor: Desert Storm will revolutionize the first person military genre.” Also mentioned in today’s press statement was that CoH: DS will feature a 512-player online “Warfare Mode”.
