The deal has been in the works for at least a few months according to some reports. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick stated that a new title would be co-produced by Treyarch and the newly acquired, Danger Close. Entitled Call of Honor: Desert Storm, the title is staled for a November 2012 release. According to Kotick, the game’s campaign revolves around a covert plot to assassinate Saddam Hussein during the first Desert Storm. You take control of Task Force Omega, an elite Army regiment trained in counter-terrorism, as they infiltrate Baghdad, Iraq. Mr. Kotick is quoted saying that “Call Of Honor: Desert Storm will revolutionize the first person military genre.” Also mentioned in today’s press statement was that CoH: DS will feature a 512-player online “Warfare Mode”. Details are scarce on exactly what this is. A closed beta has been announced for this summer.
